Excel Import (Conceptual Design)

The Excel Import function enables you to import data from Microsoft Excel to the Bentley Raceway and Cable Management Conceptual Design.

  • Design Ribbon > Import Tool Group
SettingDescription
XLS File Specifies the Excel worksheet that contains the connection information. Click in the field and click the Browse icon to display the Open dialog, which allows you to locate the XLS file and open it.
Note: A selection button displays when you click within this field.
XML File The XML file determines how the information in Excel table is read in Bentley Raceway and Cable Management.

Click the Browse button which appears when you click in the field. Select an XML file and click OK.

Click the icon to display the Configuration dialog allowing you to either modify the existing XML file, or define a new template XML file to use.

Start row Specifies the starting row of data to be imported.
End row Specifies the ending row of data to be imported.
Default System If the import tool is unable to retrieve the voltage level for a cable, it can use this setting as a default value.
